Another commission fanart sculpture. This was a rather large piece. Each of the bloody tools and the rag are seperate pieces. Nny himself is also unattached.
Great attention to detail went into the nasty tub. My wife was disgusted...and impressed!
Yeah, when I sculpted that stuff I only had the one crappy digital camera. That piece was bought by some guy in New York and so is lost to me forever so I can't take better pictures. I was hoping that it would seem more like Johnny lighting...you know kind of like a spooky room lit by one dim bare bulb. Oh well.
Thanks! I kinda had to step outside of myself to sculpt the Johnny stuff... I really got into the spirit of sculpting that. The bathtub was probably the creepiest, hmmm.... maybe I got carried away....nah.
Wow! Thank you so much! I'm kind of the opposite. For me the great thing about sculpting is that the sculpture isn't done until I say it is. If it looks funny or if you make a mistake, you can cut this or that piece out and fix it. I once burnt a sculpture to a crisp in the oven. The arms and legs got all bubbly and freakish looking. But I was able to cut out the warped parts, put new clay in the holes and with a little paint it was fixed. So, with clay, no matter how badly I am doing the longer I work the better it gets. I can't draw to save my own life. With drawing, the longer I work the stupider it gets.
Don't get too inspired *laughs* But yeah, I understand your point. If I were you I would have to keep thinking that "that's only paint, those aren't real limbs..." *grins*
Thanks!!! Papier mache is cool too... I made an oogie boogie pinata out of papier mache for last Halloween. That was fun. He is still mostly intact and I think I still have him somewhere....

I really wish I was that talented. I suppose all my Jhonen fan art will have to remain 2D for a while until I get better at sculpting.
